Four inches thick. Not a veneer.
Most “stone” on new homes today is a thin facing glued to the wall. We work the old way: full-bed stone, four inches and more, each block faced by hand with hammer and chisel, then laid to carry its own weight. It looks different because it is different — depth, shadow, and mass no veneer can fake.

The craftsman
Three decades in the trade.
Scott Kennedy learned stonework in the 1990s from the old trade craftsmen of southern Indiana — America’s limestone country, where the stone for the Empire State Building was quarried. He’s been facing and laying stone ever since.
